Askina® Derm

Description
Askina® Derm is a self adhesive transparent film
dressing which consist of a polyurethane membrane
coated with an acrylic adhesive.
Askina® Derm allows visual inspection of the wound,
provides a bacteria barrier but allows excess
moisture to pass away from the wound and surrounding
skin providing an optimal wound healing environment.
Indications
Protection of non exuding wounds such as:
Minor burns
Donor sites
Abrasions
Lacerations
Catheter fixations
Can be used as a secondary dressing

How to use
1) Remove the “Askina”
printed release paper from the adhesive side of the
dressing.
2) Position the dressing
over the wound site with the tabs on the adhesive side
facing the wound. Gently apply pressure to the dressing
as it attaches to the wound.
3) Grasp the tabs with
both hands. Slowly peel away the tabs and gently apply
the remainder of the dressing with a rolling motion to
the surrounding dry skin.
4) Once the dressing is
secured remove the plastic carrier by peeling the tabs
in the direction of the arrows.
How to remove the Askina® Derm dressing
By gently pressing down on the skin, carefully free the
dressing edges, one at a time.
The Askina® Derm dressing may be left in place for
up to seven days depending on wound condition.
Cutting Techniques
Askina® Derm can be cut into strips
Cut at right angles to and across the central
Askina® block, this will enable the strips to retain
the application tabs.
